Twofold Studio, Jones Architects and joiner Evan Goldsmith collaborated to design and build the Stage One extension of this inner-Brisbane project. The small original workers cottage typical of the Red Hill suburb was remodelled to consolidate circulation spaces, and integrate a dedicated dining room, study and storage zone. Custom windows and doors provided a bespoke result that not only opens the house up to the tree canopy beyond but gives greater control of the environmental conditions with sectionalised openings.
Built-in window seats, and multipurpose double-sided joinery units integrated the storage into an efficient layout whilst not impeding on limited circulation and household functions.
